When one looks at scientific happenings behind the breakdown of tissue, the powerful, indescribable stench starts to make sense.One of the worst odors in the world can be of a rodent that is lying some where in your house but you don’t know where its coming from. The stench of a carcass that is lying somewhere in your house can be smelt from miles away and can make the experience of living in a house unbearable.

fortunately there are some effective ways of removing the smell

Eliminate the carcass:

the first obvious step that needs to be taken is to look for the dead rat and to eliminate the smell by removing it.look for maggots or damp spots ,flies. however one cannot tear up their house in search of a dead rat as it can become pretty expensive, hence other remedies could be followed

 

Mop with Anti bacterial:

Once the body is found and removed; make sure you mop the whole affected area by mixing some antibacterial liquid in water that is being used for mopping ( keeping the anti bacterial’s quantity quite high from normal circumstances). Anti bacterial in liquid form is readily available at all grocery stores so that shouldn’t be an issue at all.

Or if you don’t want to spend any money then you could mix some salt,lemon and add some vinegar to the water that you are going to use for dipping your mop. This mixture can no fixed or accurate quantities ; basically the more the merrier.

Purify the air:

In order to purify the air you need to air out the area by opening all sorts of doors, windows by switching on all fans.

Air cleaners/ freshers can be helpful to lessen the stench of a dead rat by filtering the air, in order to remove the particles that cause the foul smell. Although they cannot completely remove the odor but it is possible to lessen it through this remedy.

Neutralize or mask the odor:

Odor Neutralizers break down odor causing compounds by employing bacteria ,whilst odor masking agents release a pleasant smell to conceal the foul smell of the dead rat.
