Curtains brighten up a room and beautify a window. They are a necessity for households as they protect the interior of the house and allow privacy as well. There are various styles and designs for curtains available, but adding your own touch to any room can bring a personal flair to a window. Here is a basic and simple guide on making curtains without the use of a sewing machine:

Things you will need

  • Curtain fabric
  • Iron
  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape
  • Fabric tape
  • Curtain rod

Instructions

  1. With the measuring tape, measure the window and dimensions of the curtain it will need. Add 6-inches to both the height and width of the curtains to the dimensions you have taken.

  1. Select the curtain fabric. Place it face down. Begin hemming its sides with the fabric glue and fold over about an inch of it. With the iron, press down the edges so that the glue settles. Repeat at the bottom of the fabric as well.

  1. Make a top loop for the curtains to make it slide over the rod by applying glue to the top edge and folding it over the rod.

  1. Attach the rod over the window frame.
